🕙  2 minute read

Use this action to update the owner, process name, and permissions for a process template. Process templates can also be referred to as Workflows.

With the Workflow collection of actions, you can automate updating and managing a Workflow with a Workflow.

How to configure this action

Fields for this action

  • Process

    • Select a Workflow to update from a list of all Workflows available on your team. The list only includes Workflows you have permission to view.
      • You can also reference a Workflow stored in a field. Change the left hand drop-down to Use table via field then select from any field that is part of the process. Learn more.
      • If necessary, you can enter the Workflow ID directly. Change the left hand drop-down to Use table by ID then enter the ID manually. Learn more.
  • Owner

    • Enter the username or email of the process template owner.
    • If the current run owner will be the owner, input {{run.owner.email}}. If left blank, the owner of the template will not be changed.
  • New name

    • Enter the new name of the process template. May be defined as text or {{field-reference}} variable. If left blank, the name of the template will not be changed.
  • Edit permission

    • Input the username or email of users who can find and edit the process template, separated by commas. Groups can also be entered. If left blank, the edit permissions of the template will not be changed.
      • Example: example@pagerduty.com, erikamustermann, g_engineeringgroup (g_ must be added before the group name)
  • Find permission

    • Input the username or email of users who can find the process template, separated by commas. Groups can also be entered. If left blank, the edit permissions of the template will not be changed.
      • Example: example@pagerduty.com, erikamustermann, g_engineeringgroup (g_ must be added before the group name)
  • Default field permissions

    • Select the default permission level for the process template’s fields. If left blank, the default field permission of the template will not be changed. This specifically effects the visibility of the fields in the process.
    • The four permission levels are:
      • Public: Fields are visible to anyone interacting with this process
      • Internal: Fields are hidden from non-team members
      • Confidential: Fields are hidden from everyone except admins and designated users
      • Highly Confidential: Fields are hidden from everyone except for designated users
  • Users with default field access

    • If the process’s default field permission is set to Confidential or Highly Confidential, input the username or email of users who can find and edit the process template, separated by commas. Groups can also be entered. If users are not specified, it will default to those with edit permission.
