Salesforce: Create a contact

Use this action to add a new contact record in Salesforce.

Use case

  • Automate intake of new contacts within an account
  • Assign contacts to the correct account or sales rep based on contact information
  • Automatically create tasks or send emails based on new contact information

How to configure this action

This action requires a preconfigured Salesforce integration. For more information on integrating Catalytic with other systems, please refer to the Integrations section of our help documentation.

Fields for this action

  • Integration

    • Select your team’s integration from the list
  • Account ID

    • Input the 15 digit ID for the owner of this account.
    • If left blank, it will default to the Salesforce integration user.
  • Type

    • Type of account
    • Customer, Competitor, or Partner
  • Account ID

    • Account number assigned to this account (not the unique, system-generated ID assigned during creation)

    • Maximum size is 40 characters

  • Last Name

    • Contact’s last name
  • First Name

    • Contact’s first name
  • Salutation

    • Contact’s salutation
    • Mr., Mrs., Ms., Miss, Dr., etc
  • Title

    • Contact’s title
  • Contact ID

    • Input the 15 digit ID for the this case’s contact.
  • Department

    • Department of the contact
  • Description

    • Describe the account
  • Email

    • Email address of the contact
  • Phone

    • Phone number for a contact of this account
  • Mailing information

    • City
    • Country
    • Postal code
    • State
    • Street address
  • Custom field 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) API Name

    • Define a custom field to update. To find the API Name, view the field in Salesforce Setup. Custom fields typically uses the format FieldName__c
  • Custom field 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) value

    • Set the value to store in the custom field

What will this output?

All output fields will store under the custom field value giving during the action configuration.
