Salesforce: Update an account

Use this action to update one or more fields on an account in Salesforce

Use case

  • Update account information as part of a sales qualification process
  • Improve data accuracy and integrity with automated account updates

How to configure this action

This action requires a preconfigured Salesforce integration. For more information on integrating Catalytic with other systems, please refer to the Integrations section of our help documentation.

Fields for this action

  • Integration

    • Select your team’s integration from the list
  • Account ID

    • The ID of the Salesforce account that should be updated
  • Account name

    • List the name of the Salesforce account
    • A name longer than the maximum length of 255 characters will cause the action to fail
  • Account number

    • Account number assigned to this account (not the unique, system-generated ID assigned during creation). Maximum size is 40 characters
  • Account description

    • Set the account description
  • Account industry

    • Set the account’s department
  • Account fax

    • Set the fax number for a contact of this account
  • Account rating

    • Set the rating for the account as hot, warm, or cold
  • Account phone

    • Set the phone number for a contact of this account
  • Account type

    • Set the type of account as Customer, Competitor, or Partner
  • Account website

    • Set the website url for this account
  • Custom field 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) API Name

    • Define a custom field to update. To find the API Name, view the field in Salesforce Setup. Custom fields typically uses the format FieldName__c
  • Custom field 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) value

    • Set the value to store in the custom field

What will this output?

All output fields will store under the custom field value giving during the action configuration.
