Salesforce: Create a case

Use this action to add a new case record in Salesforce.

Use case

  • Automatically QA each case that is entered to verify that all the right information has been documented.
  • Automatically create tasks or send emails based on new case information.

How to configure this action

This action requires a preconfigured Salesforce integration. For more information on integrating PagerDuty Workflow Automation with other systems, please refer to the Integrations section of our help documentation.

Fields for this action

  • Integration

    • Select your team’s integration from the list
  • Account ID

    • Account number assigned to this account (not the unique, system-generated ID assigned during creation)
    • Maximum size is 40 characters
  • Contact ID

    • Input the 15 digit ID for the this case’s contact.
  • Owner ID

    • Input the 15 digit ID for the owner of this account.
    • If left blank, it will default to the Salesforce integration user
  • Origin

    • The source of the case, such as email, phone, or web
  • Priority

    • Importance or urgency of the case
    • High, medium, or low
  • Status

    • The API name for the status. Make sure to enter the API name and not the label
    • Maximum size is 255 characters
    • If left blank, it will use the default defined in Salesforce
  • Type

    • Set the type of account as Customer, Competitor, or Partner
  • Reason

    • The reason why the case is being created: installation, feedback, instructions, etc
  • Subject

    • The subject of the case
    • Maximum size is 255 characters
  • Description

    • Describe the account
  • Custom field 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) API Name

    • Define a custom field to update. To find the API Name, view the field in Salesforce Setup. Custom fields typically uses the format FieldName__c
  • Custom field 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) value

    • Set the value to store in the custom field

What will this output?

All output fields will store under the custom field value giving during the action configuration.
