Google Drive: Download a file

Use this action to download a file from a specific Google Drive folder. This action can download files from personal and team drive folders and will convert downloaded files to standard file types, such as .docx or .xlsx.

How to configure this action

This action requires a preconfigured Google Drive integration. For more information on integrating PagerDuty Workflow Automation with other systems, please refer to the Integrations section of our help center.

Fields for this action

  • Integration

    • Select your Google Drive integration from the options. You may have multiple integrations configured.
  • File ID

    • The location in Google Drive where the file resides. When viewing the file, the ID is a unique string typically at the end of the URL.
      • Example: For https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IbqDHqn0YrVXZtN-eISXFdRQNWj1uKIf_2CJrTFyQoM/edit, the File ID is 1IbqDHqn0YrVXZtN-eISXFdRQNWj1uKIf_2CJrTFyQoM
  • Output Name

    • Enter the name of the field to save the result to.

What will this output?

The action downloads the file as is if the file has a standard file type, otherwise downloaded files are automatically converted to standard file types:

  • Sheets convert to .xlsx
  • Docs convert to .docx
  • Slides convert to .pptx
  • Any other file without a file type convert to .pdf

Output fields for this action

  • File ID

    • The file ID defined during action configuration.
  • Output Name

    • This field stores the file downloaded by the action. The field name will be the name defined during configuration.
