Dropbox: Upload file

Use this action to upload a file into a specific Dropbox folder.

Use case

  • Upload a file to a shared company folder.
  • Automate filing documents by uploading to specific categories, like receipts, invoices, or contracts.
  • Create new folders to automate a complex filesystem.

How to configure this action

This action requires a preconfigured Dropbox integration. For more information on integrating Catalytic with other systems, please refer to the Integrations section of our help center, or the Dropbox Integration Setup Guide directly.

The file size must be within Catalytic’s file size limit.

Fields for this action

  • Integration

    • Select your Dropbox integration from the options. You may have multiple integrations configured.
  • Uploaded file name

    • Enter a name for the new file.
      • Names can include spaces and capital letters.

      💡   Tip: If a file with the same name already exists in the folder, (1), (2), (3), etc. is appended to the file name.

  • Folder

    • Identify the location where the file will be stored in Dropbox, for example /docs/myfiles
    • To upload to the main folder, or root directory of your box account, leave this field blank.
  • File to upload

    • Choose the file(s) from the process to upload to Dropbox:
      • Upload a single file: A single file via a handlebar field: {{my-field}} or a file ID: acfa1e0f-3660-4ced-91be-cde3def319
      • Upload multiple files Enter field references or file ID’s in a comma separated list, such for example: {{invoice}}, acfa1e8d-4660-4ced-91be-cde3eef310, {{invoice2}}
      • Upload all files Enter * to upload all files that exist in the process when this action starts.

What will this output?

This action will output a field with the uploaded file. The field will depend on the return field name set when configuring the action.
