SharePoint: Download a file
Use the SharePoint: Download a file action download files within SharePoint folders. This works like the Box: Download file and Dropbox: Download file actions.
Use case
- Download an Excel file, then use Excel actions to extract/look up/filter data unique to your instance.
How to configure this action
This action requires a preconfigured SharePoint integration. For more information on integrating PagerDuty Workflow Automation with other systems, please refer to the Integrations section of our help documentation.
Fields for this action

Integration
- Choose your team’s integration from the drop-down list

File name
- Identify the name of the file or use a reference field

Folder path
- Location where the file is stored in SharePoint. The path should not include the download drive.
- For example, to download from a folder “2018” in a “Contracts” Drive, fill out the Folder Path and Download Drive fields as follows:

- Folder Path:
/2018
- Download Drive:
- 💡 Tip: Enter just
/
to choose the root SharePoint folder.

Download site
- Specify the SharePoint site, leave this empty to refer to your main Sharepoint page

Return Field Name
- Enter a name for the field in which the result should be saved.

Download Drive
- The site to download the file from. Leave blank for Shared Documents drive.

What will this output?
This action will output the downloaded SharePoint file to a file field. The name of the output field will be the Return Field Name defined during configuration.
